Behind the Scenes Q4 2022

Waypoint Team

The Waypoint Team gathered during Q4 for their Team Retreat in San Francisco. To no surprise, it was a great time building on team connections and firm values. After the retreat, the team headed over to Stagecoach Greens for some mini golf followed by some food and drinks by the fire.

In December, the team gathered at Annette’s home for their Annual Holiday Lunch. It was so rewarding to be able to celebrate the year and all that the WWP team accomplished together. Following lunch, to continue with the annual traditions, the team played an exciting game of Left Right Center and then gathered for their white elephant gift exchange.

Annette

The fourth quarter is always a busy time of year with end of year planning for clients and strategic planning and goal setting for our firm and team. But on the personal side, the fourth quarter was all about family. We headed to LA for the long Thanksgiving weekend to be with my family but Adrian’s family in Portland didn’t want to miss out so they flew down and joined us too! We cooked together, shared meals, played games, and had long walks on the beach. Then we had the WWP team, my “work family”, at my home for our annual holiday party with a beautiful meal, white elephant gift exchange and a mean game of left-right-center. And finally we wrapped up the year in England spending Christmas with Adrian’s extended family in Northumberland, sharing in all their holiday traditions and rang in the new year with our dear friends, “our chosen family”, in Chamonix. We were a little concerned we were packing in too much at an already busy time of year but once we were with our families, we knew we made the right decision and never looked back.

Courtney

Q4 is always a fun time for the Hutch crew. Halloween, family birthdays and Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday time to name a few. They enjoyed family time with visits from Cousin Weston and Nonna and Pop Pop spending time at Stinson Beach and baking holiday cookies. They also went on a family trip to Santa Cruz where they had tons of fun at The Boardwalk and Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Chuck

Chuck spent a lot time with family and shoveling snow at end of 2022!  He hosted a Thanksgiving Feast for his family, enjoyed time with both his kids who were home for the holidays, and spent New Years in Tahoe with dog Agnew and partner Paula enjoying the snow!

Jesse

Jesse and Matthias went on a 10-day adventure to Guatemala over the Thanksgiving holiday. They spent most of their time exploring the Lake Atitlan area and staying with Matthias’s Aunt, who runs an eco/yoga retreat. But they also made it to the old capital, Antigua, for a day of walking tours and delicious food. It was a great way to disconnect and relax!

Rania

Rania took the big plunge in Q4 and made the move to San Diego. Growing up she would visit the city annually as part of her family summer vacation, now she calls the city home. She is quickly acclimating to the warmer climate and exploring all the must visit sites, one of which is a hike to potato chip rock. The highlight is at the top the hike there is a rock that juts 2,000 feet above the San Diego terrain that looks like a potato chip, hence the name. It is an iconic spot and visited by locals and tourists alike. “The next time I do this hike, I’ll bring a bag of chips to truly honor the experience”.

Lindsay

2022 finished with a bang! The girls really stepped up their game with Thanksgiving this year. Lindsay may be able to pass the torch next year and just supervise! Christmas was a blast with all the kids, even though they are all growing up way too fast. Lindsay’s sister took some great family pictures for their annual Christmas card (she’s the best!). Lots of hunting and fishing, especially for Noah and Ella. They were even able to sneak in a Christmas country concert which was so much fun.

Becca

This quarter Becca and her husband moved to Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra mountains. She’s been enjoying XC skiing and has already experienced multiple snowstorms. In November, she tried canyoneering in Death Valley for the first time with friends. Over the holidays she spent quality time with family, cooking and enjoying the outdoors.

Avelina

Avelina’s Q4 was filled with spending time with family and friends as 2022 came to an end. She attended a baby shower for one of her childhood best friends. “It was so nice to gather and celebrate her soon to be baby boy and their 16 years of friendship”. As winter approached, she made a trip out to Pinecrest, CA for some snow tubing which was so much fun! She closed the year out by spending time with her family over the holidays and even learned to cook a few new recipes passed down from her grandma and great aunt.
